After putting up a good performance in the just concluded Test series against Sri Lanka, cricketer Yuvraj Singh is getting closer to the 'Maharaja' league of endorsements.
The stylish left hander who is being hotly pursued by four firms -- which includes a four wheeler company, an insurance firm, an FMCG player and a consumer durables manufacturer -- is just one series of good performance away to go beyond the Rs 1 crore tag.

"Negotiations are in final stages with three firms to endorse their brands. In fact, announcement of the deals can be anytime before the Indian team leaves for Pakistan," Percept D'Mark Head Northern India operations Sanjay Kakar said.

He, however, declined to name the firms. But the company, which handles Yuvraj's professional management, is sure that after the Sri Lanka series and a "similar showing against Pakistan would put his value beyond Rs 1 crore per endorsement".

"There has been a rise in his equity by about 25 to 30 per cent after the Sri Lanka series and if he continues in the same vein future holds good for him as the ICC trophy is coming up in 2006 in India and followed by the World Cup in 2007 in West Indies," he added.

Yuvraj, who charges about Rs 70-80 lakh per endorsement, had ended his contract with Korean consumer durables and electronics major LG in June after completion of term.

He currently endorses Parachute hair cream, Hero Honda, Westside and Indian Oil.
