ok sgusa
i think i have you taken on this one.
i have eaten in 27 different nations,
have not one, not 2 but 3 bars in three different states of the US that have drinks i came up with AND named after me.
i cook damn good food from 3 different cuisines and the best part, i clean up after i cook!!
whats up now?!?!?
now it will be easy to find someone to marry you  ;D. i will post these qualifications of yours on bharatmatrimony.com

Is not the prospective girl not running a risk  ??? 27 countries, each country having cosmopolitan citizens....
k-slice freaking out on even a small percentage of them....the only bright side is "The experience"  ;D

anyways here are two awards that if they are not given is against the very grain of this DG:

The most venomous Chappal - my nominees - Fineleg, CP, DD, TYC, Ramshorns
The most notorious Gangulian - Dex, Dex, Dex, Blwe, Dex

27 countries is cool. am hoping to arrive at that number within the next couple of years. counter stands at about 16 give or take one or two.
anyways, guys, dont delete posts, itz ok.
just put down your nominees, the more the better, because just 1 or 2 ppl posting them will ensure that ppl are missed out.

DD - humour

There has to be  a CVL (legend) award. and i seriously mean this one too.

nominees -

sahir (and then one day they buried him next to hoffa),
arjun swaroop ("yes you can have another DG, i will definiely be a mod"),
mock ("i am a woman" and the DG was never the same again)
teddy (but we have to decide which id it goes to)
fever-fineleg (last man standing gets to give the award to the other guy)

how about a mix b/w this idea and 'DG most famous member' suggestion I have already posted.
We will keep that one as it covers most of the idea you are suggesting (CV Legend) and we can have a 'CV Most Famous Quote'. CV Legend is a great idea actually

Funniest guy: DD
MVP: Worma

In the other categories, the people I think should be nominated have already been nominated by someone else.

Great idea DD!
Applause!
But no nomination for CP!! Strange! ;D ;D
Let me add a category: The 'old stick in the mud' of this DG.
And my nomination is, who else but CP! ;D

I also suggest, lets do some secret voting for all categories. Lets create seperate polls for each category, with maximum possible representation. The counting will become easier. It will also be less controversial and more serious. I feel, this thread is going to metamorphosize into a good idea in the coming days.

Jaat is back  ;D
jaat what we're doing right now is not voting, but electing nominees. Just trying to get together many good categories and a broad perspective of who should be in each category. Voting will be with a poll (separate for each Award obviously) and secret unless you tell everyone who you're voting for.

Nomination for CV rookie (approx.50 posts): Vincent (he just made his 51 post today) and  I find he has posted some good, researched posts.
I will also try to provide other nominations, but how do I find members with approx under 60 posts or so? Is there a way, or Mods if u have a way to generate a list of posters with like 30-60 posts, then post the list.

Sahir has made a few posts before he left that he was at Syracuse University (New York, i guess).
Do University websites offer way to find his email ID, given his name?
If someone (Mods) know his email Id, can u contact him? That chap deserves to be here, when the Summer Awards are being voted, if only someone can find/have his email id and contact him.

I nominate the "CRICKET VIDEO LINKS" (started by Sahir and then grown by all of us) for the best thread - we have all enjoyed so many of the videos.

How many sahirs do you think they have at Syracuse Law school? You could probably google "Sahir Syracuse Law" and find him.

ok. Actually since this was a sticky ... it ended up being at the top and I did not even notice it until now (I jump down to the middle of the page for the "meat")

My choice

MVP: Fineleg. Just the quantity of his posts beats everything else. But honestly he is the heart of the DG. He keeps things going when nothing else is happening. Truly think this DG would be much poorer without him(her)

Funniest: Its a tough one. But no I wont vote for myself :) . I think with due respect to others this needs to be shared between DD and Jiet. Jiet just for his sarcasm and DD for the effort he puts in the Asterix (even though he made me a beeping Unhygenix! How did he know about my showering habits :)  )

Best thread: I would put in the thread about the definition of Gangulian :) .. nah just kidding. I think Roadies beats out the Chicken crossing with just a beak.

Life time Achievement Award: Kban for his passion and attention to detail and the work for the betterment of the DG.
