Tamil New year and Vaisakhi (Punjabi New Year) was on 13th. Wish you all a very happy new year.

Today is Poila Boishaakh i.e. Begali New Year.

Tamil New Year's was April 14th

Well, technically, Karunanidhi had changed that to January 14 to coincide with Pongal, but noone really follows that ;)

why can't MMS modify the whole thing and have one Indian new year for whole of the country...as far as I know, almost all of them fall within a close range..just have one big Hindu new year atleast.

This might actually make a lot of sense and we can create it into something of a tourism thing because Ugadi, Gudi Padva etc fall at a time when the weather is also great and we can attract tourists in that period..
