Taylor will finish this off. Even Praveen can connect the odd one.

And when he hits them, they stay hit (this one is for the commentary thread)
17 of 2 required.
I think CSK will win.
All it needs is a bad shot from Taylor.

Oram is a weak link in the bowling. I dont remember him having even one good match with the ball in this IPL.

Has Raina bowled yet?

thanks kic for the curse. First Sangwan, then Kumble. Hopefully Oram can deliver  :)

He He ...with the great allrounder Akhil batting, did you have anything to fear?
sarcasm...way off the mark. Check out his record. Not too bad in 20-20 especially the bowling for the price tag. In fact much better than many other players.

UUU or Useless Uttappa is pound for pound the most useless of them all.  He does not have what it takes to succeed at the next level.  They need to cut this guy loose.   It is a shame he gets to make so much money for so less.  Perhaps an UUU clause needs to be incorporated into all contracts hereforth where in money has to be returned if certain obligations as a player are not met.
joking I suppose. What are these obligations ? scoring min# of runs and min# of wickets etc ? That way in a short time you pretty much have none available for the team.
I am not defending RU here but again there were people who were paid more who underperformed such as Kallis last season, KP this season, Flintoff this season, VVS pretty much whole of IPL, SRT in pockets, RD steady but not spectacular, SG ( same)

Kumble should have been MOM. His wicket of Hayden was the key and he bowled excellently today.

I am not debating the numbers. They show he has talent. But he has not delivered in both versions of the tournament so far. Not even a single match comes to mind. I would put him in the Cameron White category.

This Vinay Kumar chap has impressed me ...besides being a reasonable bowler, he is also a handy batsman who can get a few away. MI could have done with someone like him yesterday ...we have a tail that just cant put bat to ball!

I think SRT has handled the bowlers well ...he's captained better than he has in the past but for a few blunders.

We need our batsmen to be consistent and a tail that can put bat to ball.

I am sorry.. today's batting line up was screwed up. I dont buy this, let's bring our best late theory. If your weakeness is middle order, try fixing this.. dont screw up your top to fix middle. By that logic, if one identifies that the tail is not doing a good job of batting, will SRT and SJ come at 10 and 11? It is really silly. They should have slotted a couple of locals in middle and let them play at that spot for a long time.. would have brought the stability that drives performance

seriously, i think SRT's nut is loose !! i think every position in the batting order has been different in the last few games !!! except perhaps rahane coming in at #3 ;).

the lineup from the start should have been sanath, sachin, rahane, dhawan, duminy, bravo, nayar

I agree. Last match's line up was fine. Jaya, Bravo, Rahane/Duminy, SRT, Duminy/Rahane, Nayar. I wouldnt mind promoting Nayar to No 3 if the asking rate is on the higher side.

It was quite something to see Nita Ambani's reactions through the match ...tense, happy, tense again ...but when all was over, smiling once again.

End of match. Tough luck but not the end of life.

Some team owners can learn a few things if they care to.

SRK was hounded more for going to the dressing room and trying to interfere in team selection / plans etc ..if the unidentified sources in the media are to be believed. I never saw him in the dugout ...he was generally in the VIP stands with his chuddi buddies like Karan Johar and Arjun Ramphal dancing away and playing to the gallery ...and then gradually started getting more and more invisible as his team started losing (I still remember his expression when Mumbai thrashed them last year).

Nita Ambani just sits there and cheers. She said as much in an interview that she doesnt understand the game much to help or anything. In fact after the first couple of victories she went home coz her kids had their exams or something. But when the team had a series of 3 losses, she felt that she should be here just to tell them that it is just a game and dont worry too much about the result.

Was she on her berry throughout the tense moments or just not looking up?

What about Ms Shetty's reactions.. she was praying throughout. The best was after Nayar hit the 6, she said "Its OK, Its OK".

Last year SRK was hounded for being in the dug out... what is Nita Ambani doing there this year ?

I've never seen her on a berry ..maybe I did not notice. She generally waves the flag around a bit ...otherwise just sits there ...not as animated as Ms Shetty or Ms Zinta during good or bad times.

Sachin Tendulkar gave the muhurat clap for 'Awwal Number' - that apart, he hasn't done much wrong in the last 20 yrs!

It was quite something to see Nita Ambani's reactions through the match ...tense, happy, tense again ...but when all was over, smiling once again.

End of match. Tough luck but not the end of life.

Some team owners can learn a few things if they care to.
