why can t they stand outside the crease for Malinga.

We have a bowler in our league who always bowls consistently at a yorker length. I just stand 2 steps outside the crease andd I always get a full toss from him. Unfortunately I am not always talented enough to hit those for 4's ... but he rarely can get me out (otherwise he is one of the better bowlers in the league)

With all the hype sorrounding players like Tendulkar it is players like De Villiars and Dilshan that will make or break it for you.  These two have won games literally for DD while chasing even before this game.

And we have all these losers out there trying to get petitons out based on past deeds.  Not the players fault certainly but then they have all these fans who are just hung up in the past refusing to see things as they are and enjoying the present.

Delhi has won 6 out of 8 games.

This without playing Wrath and even benching Vettori.

and this is the third consecutive game without She-wag too.

Very bad captaincy by SRT. Bravo with econ rate of 2 bowled only 1 over. And SRT decided to bowl himself out of the game.

Good is relative terms.

Not Warner, Naman Ojha, Dilshan, Yusuf Pathan, De Villiars, Bopara, Yuvraj, Pragyan Ojha, Hayden, Raina, RP Singh, Nehra good to name a few(mind you these are just from top of my head) that literally won games for the team with some stellar performances.

RD -> AK -> SRT -> SG in that order. SG was almost as good as RD in the first IPL but nowhere near RD in this IPL. RD has to make sure that he continues to contribute in rest of the matches otherwise initial 2-3 good knocks are of no use!
AK is bowling brilliantly in this series where as he was big flop in the IPL 1

After all the initial hype and hurrah, which of the Indian olds have proven adequate in IPL? SRT? SG? AK? VVS? RD?
It depends whom you ask  ;D. The names will be different.
SRT has been MOM in two of Mumbai's 9 matches. RD has been in 1 of 7 he played.
Kumble while in wickets had close call fom MOM.
SG was very close to winning a game for KKR.
VVS had his winning contribution in games he played by getting out ASAP to give Rohit a chance to accelerate.

These are the fantasy scores of each of the players that potentially sums up their contribution as well(50 bonus for MOM, scoring pattern at http://fantasy.cricinfo.com/fantasy/fantasyleague/user/scoringpoints.html?game_id=51 ):

SRT   487
Akumble   458
RD   290
SG   217
Not writing VVS's score else to save weekend depression for Rams.

Does the fantasy scores take into account the Economy rate for bowlers and Strike rate for batsmen?

Is it time for Mumbai to get more captains?

So much for the "great cricketing brain".  ;D To be fair, he hasn't fared this poorly in his bowling prior.

15.6   Tendulkar to de Villiers, 1 run, flighted on middle, driven past the bowler down to long-on for a single, 19 off the over, failed gamble
15.5   Tendulkar to de Villiers, FOUR, absolutely terrible, Mumbai have squandered a good few overs here, short on the off, enough time for de Villiers to rock back and bludgeon that wide of deep midwicket
15.4   Tendulkar to de Villiers, no run, long hop again, was lucky it kept low, got an underedge wide of the keeper
15.3   Tendulkar to de Villiers, FOUR, poor, short, rank long hop on middle, the offspinner again, pulled away into the same gap for a boundary, the Mumbai captain has thrown it away
15.2   Tendulkar to de Villiers, SIX, that'll do it even more, poor ball, full toss on middle, smashed away over the deep-midwicket boundary, the decisive bowling change
15.1   Tendulkar to de Villiers, FOUR, superb shot, tossed up outside off, gets to the pitch and flicks it away between long-on and deep midwicket for a boundary, that'll relieve the pressure a little

This was a bone head decision,  considering they needed to add more pressure rather giving DV oppurtunity.

Given that part-time spinners were doing very well by slowing the pace of game - it was a 50-50 decision.. but when you bowl such bad balls - it indicates a "brain-freeze" or "trying too hard" when keeping it simple could have done the trick

I think SRT should forget about captaining and just focus on his cricket. That would  then leave just Dhoni and Sehwag from the original list of ,( what were they called I forget the name), of players who were supposed to be, (what were they supposed to be?) the shining lights of their teams.

Dhoni's not an icon player for CSK, I think.
