I still think it was bad for SRT to bowl Napier because Malinga was on a roll the previous over.  So using Malinga would have been the way to go depite the wicket which by the also cost MI 9-10 runs and the momentum would have been with MI'ans with an ever steeper ask.   But then when you lose close games these are the things that matter.  How you shuffle your bowlers.

Hodge really playing admirably.  Imagine this being Ganguly.  Blwe would have had perhaps 20 posts by now saying all soughts of things about JB and how others should be learning from SG etc.  Ofourse he will be no where to seen today given SG being out for a golden duck.

I think SRT was sving Slinga for death overs. Slinga is giving 5-6 runs an over only. The question is why is he bowling 19th over instead of 20th.

Sqaurely on the players.  Silly to blame coaches for all the shortcomings.

SRT has a word with the bowler.  Good to see that and make sure the young bowler gets the message on what he need to do here.

Q1. Will McCullum resign?

Q2. Will SG be benched for next 1 or 2 games, owing to his performance thus far, so that he can sort out his hurt ego and batting?

Are you kidding me.  It is always about someelse but SG when they lose.  JB readily comes to mind. ;)   So no that will not happen.

Okay, now that KKR stand 7-1-5-1 at the end of first 7 games, what is verdict on multi captain theory (that is if it was in play)?

But SG opened in this game. He had every chance to leave his mark / show his class / win the game (take your pick). In 5 games he has batted, he has two scores of 1 and now a 0. He also lost that nearly-won game for KKR, that went to super over. IMO they need to bench SG and BM for a game or two and make Lakshmi Ratan Shukla the acting captain.

pathetic play --this team deserves the wooden spoon, no doubt.

Poor execution -- none of the stars justify their price tags.

Hodge played well today, after the early slip.

But what was the point of sending Mc after Laxmi ? Didnt they lose 7 balls in the process, balls that could have MC could have used.

And finally to the coach /es of  KKR:

Thank you you misguided idiots for taking an average team and dragging it down to the dregs.  :notworthy: :notworthy:

Given their wins and losses do not matter from this point on and also given the way SG and BM played I would not hesitate to bench them.  But then not the most sensible things are always done for whatever reasons.

MI is playing too many batsmen - 7 batsmen + WK is way too much !!! Why is Napier playing instead of Bravo  ??? you cannot use 2 part-timers to fill in 8 of 20 overs !! It nearly cost them here - 4-5 runs less in the final over and it was game on !!

There is a fitness issue with Bravo. He didn't make the WI squad for the England series due to that. But he got a green signal to continue staying with MI. May be he can't bowl?

Damn, I wish KKR had won to make the points table and the possibilities more interesting. They haven't played well and the stupid distractions haven't helped one bit.

I'll stick my neck out and predict 3 wins in the second half. But it is too late to have an impact on the semis.

no, WI selectors claimed Bravo is not yet test match ready, but cleared him for IPL 2009 ;).

This was a while back, even before IPL started.
