Finally, the XIs.

Kolkata: 1 Chris Gayle, 2 Brendon McCullum (capt/ wk), 3 Brad Hodge, 4 Sourav Ganguly, 5 Laxmi Shukla, 6 Morne van Wyk, 7 Wriddhiman Saha, 8 Ajit Agarkar, 9 Ishant Sharma, 10 Murali Kartik, 11 Ashok Dinda.

Bangalore: 1 Sreevats Goswami, 2 Jacques Kallis, 3 Kevin Pietersen (capt), 4 Manish Pandey, 5 Roelof van der Merwe, 6 Mark Boucher, 7 B Akhil, 8 Praveen Kumar, 9 Pankaj Singh, 10 Anil Kumble, 11 KP Appanna.

BRC batting is very very weak.

Morne Van Wyk is an interesting selection for KKR. I like this team except for Agarkar.

He He ..it just is not happening for McCullum, is it? Out to KP in the PP ..uff.

Here, I believe it was best to send SG in. Even one down. He'll relish KP's bowling with a new ball. And I dont think the likes of Pankaj Singh and co will hold any terrors for him either.

How is Van Wyk interesting?
Just becoz, he is a South African?
I liked the name of Moses Henriques too......I wish he too played!

I think....this guy McCullum has seen 'pressure' for the first time in his life.
He should be removed from captaincy asap...otherwise this team will go nowhere!
Poor fellow! :(

McCullum's form is actually un-nerving Gayle...and Buchhy can do nothing abt this!

After bluffing the ppl abt changes and flexibility Buchhy is showing obstinacy regarding the same old failing batting line-up.......no change there.

God can save this team...........I think SRK couldn't handle the divided factions in the team...and slipped out!

Hodge showing the Aussie selectors that eh can still play test matches - 3 of 8 balls  :D :D

and now showing them that T20 is also not that bad an idea :D

Seriously, how can someone with an average of 40+ and a SR of 145 in 60 odd T20s in a tough league (both county and Australia) be over rated in this format. He could be out of form but definitely needs to have some talent to clock up those numbers.

Trivia: Brad Hodge now becomes the first player ever in T20 history to aggregate 2000 runs in the shortest format of the game.

With the batting that they have today, I dont see BRC chasing anything above 140

btw if i change my trumps now for the 2nd match - will that work?

ie, these 2 will be trump for this match, then the other two will be trump for the next match

Can KKR get 100 more in 14 overs? That is the key. If they do, it is game, set and match!

doesnt matter to me either way ...i'm generally neutral unless Mumbai is playing. or in matches where the bottom ranked teams take on the top ranked ones ....there i prefer an upset so that it opens up the league a lot more (again unless MI is the top ranked team involved)

Ab to Saha ka hi Sahara hai. If he shows some form, I wouldnt mind him opening along with Gayle either. He has been opening in the domestic ODIs and even did quite well, if I am not mistaken.

hehe appanna comes on, gets blasted for four and then promptly gets Gayle

BRC have been so unpredictable in this match that KKR appears to be still trying to figure out who is bowling and who is not

Boucher drops Wan Vyk ...

RR still above 6

Lets see what stuff Saha is made of ....I was very impressed last year ..and he may just about hustle the spinners enough to make them err in line

KKR need 56 runs more in slightly under 7 overs to put this beyond BRC's reach.
