I agree with WN and TI. However, this maybe more useful for new members/lurkers (the Top boards), and the latest posts.

i really really dislike the new setup. like teamindia i prefer the older one. this makes it appear a little too cluttered. but then again i usually dont like changes in websites i visit often. can we please go back to the older version?

The objective is to read the threads, this panel leaves very little room to read long threads.

It makes one scroll more than once to read even moderately long threads.

Agree with xiexie, kslice, rams, and teamindia --would much rather have the original set up.

Just much easier and better from a usability standpoint.

Dex:Are you unemployed or something.  You certainly seem to have a lot of time to waste.  Why fix something that is not broken and worse make it worser.  I do not know how to express myself when I see the annoying little panel to the right.  Atleast give an option where I can hit the 'X' mark and get rid of it.

Rams, any need for this rudeness? Is your life really that affected by having a panel for a couple of days?!

And yeah, we need to do something about the site and the dramatic drop in # of posts in the last month or so. Panels may not be the answer but trying out new things is certainly not a crime.

The reason for low number of posts can be ascribed to the following matters

1. Not much cricket involving India

2. Too many non cricket related happenings around the world

3. Most of the members were probably logging in from work and in current circumstances I don't think its advisable to do so...

4. Too many posts non cricket related - most are interesting but extremely time consuming to respond and many Im sure are giving up after reading...

yes, agreed...non-cricket stuff has been dominating...im not sure whether it is bc of the lack of indian cricket or bc non-cricket has taken over. i know some people left the dg bc they didnt like the political rhetoric...but i think each person can make a choice whether to read those threads or not.

I think there is a certain boredom associated with anything we do.  Give it sometime. Most of them will be back when there is that sudden adrenalin rush to jump on to a topic.

i suggest starting the following topics to cause that rush in posts:
1. why sg was actually the *tiest player ever and hence should have retired after being dropped in '94.
2. why vvs should have never played for india.
3. why srt is a choker and hence should also retire.
4. why sreesanth should be the captain of the team.
5. why dhoni is just a flat track bully.
6.why gc was the best coach in history.
7why gc was the worst coach in history.
8 rd: the player who rules indian cricket.
9. india: the best team ever:Almost.
10. india: the worst team ever: almost.

i am sure this would get the creative juices flowing in that people would come up with new ways to bite each others heads off.

ps: this really is a joke before you guys start foaming at the mouth!
