Not that this matters, since Dravid's place should be secure in tests, but FWIW:

Can you guys fill me in on him, he has the best record for a player who has played as much as him in the Super League and clearly is still producing the goods - why has he not played a test yet?

1 scoring shot for 4.. 12 dot balls.

I think his chances for playing for India are getting more and more remote by each such performance. He could be a great non-playing captain!! Oh well...the season is not over yet.

They are showing Delhi v Rajasthan on Neo. Delhi dismissed for 119 but there were some lbw decisions there that should have gone in the favor of the batsman.

When you have taken 230 wickets at 20.14, pace should become irrelevant. In my opinion, if he is over 120kph, he should be in the squad to face Pakistan in the tests. Ranji Trophy performances become no more relevant than when you are facing subcontinental opposition in India.

I think Dehli Vs Rajasthan is being played on a mine field. First Dehli get bowled out for 119 and then Rajasthan are 59/5.

it isnt a minefield. even the minimal grass cover is no excuse for some atrocious cricket. 115 kph bowlers running thru lineups.
the only bright star is pradeep sanghwan. left arm pacer, 16 yrs old. has a nice strong action, already bowling 126-132 kph, can move it around well

Rajasthan now 73/8.

I don't think the pitch is half as bad as the scores suggest. The level of batting skill on display is deplorable.

A good indication of how he is will be to look at how many he has taken while playing out side North Zone. The conditions help a lot of swing bowlers in north zone in winter and Ga*eep play lot of his games in Mohali.

Rajasthan And Delhi both have weaker batting line ups in Ranji. And Delhi strip according to curator is going to help seamers. Raina and Tiwari are stand out performers today both have scored more than 50-60% of their team total.
Kumble has been disappointing looking at that game's scorecard.

I don't know which grounds are in North Zone and which aren't. This is my first season following Indian domestic cricket, but here are ground by ground averages.

Sorry that they are not in line, it is because they are two images put together.

Mohali And Amritsar both are in Punjab his home state. Even wankhade offers support to seamers. gurgaon, dharmshala, delhi, jalandhar, meerut, lucknow, jammu are few more in north.

They should keep mounting pressure on Maharathis. If they do VVS and SG's spot in tests will be in for there taking. Badri still to play though and PP did just OK.

Raina, Tiwary and Pankaj Singh were the key performers of the day

Looks like Raina is in the form of his life.. may not be a bad idea to bring him in for the 3rd ODI

he is keeping a good tap on the SRate as well. also the bowlign attack was not that bad . looking at other batsman performance .. I agree with you WN .. people like Raina are tried and in form ..but again.RD also has to be included.
THus if GG or VS performs .. things would get complex. It will be unfair to drop RS without giving him chance..

Badri will hopefully get to bat today ..

I dont know whether the speed guns at the grounds are accurate ... Pankaj Singh appeared much faster than the speeds he was clocking. This is the first time I've seen him bowl and there is something there that can be worked on.

I was also impressed by Rajat Bhatia ... he's clearly a batsman, but one of those rare guys who bowls medium pace ... and he did bowl quite well yesterday .. of course, conditions were helpful for bowlers and the batting was pathetic, but hope this guy does well ... he can fill one of the gaps that India seems to perpetually have (since SG came on the scene long back) ... a top order batsman who can bowl medium pace (as against spin)

He was the wicketkeeper when we won U19 world cup with Kaif as captain. He was India wicketkeeper before Parthiv. he has had quite difficult time in last 2-3 years. Lost his place in haryana team and now has resurfaced playing for Goa.
