RD 54 n.o. at lunch. Or should this post be on RD watch? ;D

you just beat to me to it because of my value added comments on the HP team

i guess this deserves to be there on both threads .. although ganavk is bound to take care of that .. especially if the SR remains high ;)
Hmmm..I would wait for his century before posting in that thread if required :)

However, a mix-up between the openers saw Vijay run out before the drinks break; Powar's athletic interception of a flick resulted in a mid-pitch mix-up between the batsmen.

For Delhi

Rajat Bhatia 13 7 9 3 (these are bowling figures). He also scored 36 runs plus did well in the match against Pakistan too with the bat.

I liked his bowling .. he is a medium pacer .. and would be handy when all our other upcoming batsmen who can bowl are spinners

From Cricinfo:
Had the roll of selectoral dice gone his way, Rajat Bhatia could have been the allrounder India were looking for when Robin Singh called it a day in 2001. A medium-pace bowler who has for long stuck to one line, and a batsman good enough to tough it out at the crease, Bhatia has turned in many influential performances in domestic cricket. Chchotu is still regarded highly by those who played with and against him, especially in Tamil Nadu, even after he left them to return to Delhi, his original state. By the time he emerged as a finished product as an allrounder, there was no specific need for one, and he missed the boat for India selection. India's loss has been Delhi's gain, and ironically it is Tamil Nadu who suffer at his hands repeatedly, as he rarely fails to make a telling contribution with bat or ball against his old state team.

28 yrs old now ... is it too late to take a closer look at him??

Abhishek Nayar - 105 (85) plus one wicket

KKD - 28* (31) in the second innings

And Powar got the one wicket to fall!

Sreekumar Nair helped himself to an unbeaten triple-century - and won a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh (approximately US$2500) in the process - as Kerala posted a mammoth 566 for 6 declared against Services at Fort Maidan in Palakkad. With his 306*, Nair became the first Kerala batsman to score a first-class triple hundred, beating the previous best of 262 scored by Balan Pandit - perhaps the biggest name in Kerala cricket - against Andhra in 1959. Nair spent a little more than ten-and-a-half hours at the crease while hitting 37 boundaries. Services, meanwhile, faced with a mountain to climb, lost their opener Soomik Chatarjee early in reply before close.

P.S:-The above courtesy of CRICINFO the greatest cricket information place known to mankind which even its biggest critics(if I can call them that) go to to pluck information in order to substantiate their claims. ;)

Thats why Aussie series is very important to MSD. If PP continue this way he may push KKD and MSD both out of test team. This if he keeps atleast as well as these two.

Yes, he has had a dream run and presents a strong case (as a batsman).

But to put this in perspective, prior to this streak, his first class record was:
2577 runs
2 centuries
Avg: 29.28

And it is especially heartening that he is just 22 years old.

Although the stats are true it has to be remembered that this excellent spell coincided with PP moving up the order to either opener or No. 3. he averages better than 29 in test cricket and his highest score in tests is as an opener. maybe he was being wasted down the order. who knows.
