Pankaj was No. 6th Overall, not No.8.  The first post needs to be edited to reflect that. It remains a challenge for fantasy players in this forum to better that record. Records are meant to be broken. I think only Pankaj can better his own record, given the amount of research he puts in team selection (for Indian team & for his own team in fantasy competition) before every match.

My bad. Corrected. Thx. Yes, it is a challenege for others to better that finish !!

Records are meant to be broken. I think only Pankaj can better his own record, given the amount of research he puts in team selection (for Indian team & for his own team in fantasy competition) before every match.

I would disagree. Most of the players in the forum do put in similar effort, it is just not reflected in any post per se. No credit taken away from pankaj, but it does come down to luck and gut feel choices - trump selection etc. ;)

HaHaHa .. tell me about it ... I changed my trump from Pollock to Afridi in the last match .. and was livid throughout the match ... when i checked this morning, i realised that i had not made the cut off time ...

Now, beat that for luck!!

May be. Since pankaj posts about team selections before every match, I got that impression. Yes. Even the real time selection & captaincy is a lot about gut feel choices, luck and sometimes about the pinch hitter selection like Pollock in the last match (which was a spectacular success) and Irfan Pathan in Aus 6th ODI (which was neither a success nor an outright failure).

I feel setting it up 4-5 days in advance may be better, otherwise the threads themselves get lost here ;)

There may be a lot of us(me included) moving about during the holidays so the earlier the better. Remember what happened when Ravi joined late. ;D

One can always set up the teams .. joining the league is possible at any point ... but, I guess you have a point .. I am likely to be going on holiday myself at the end of this well .. dont know how much internet surfing I'll be doing really

Btw looks like creating a team for the Ind-Aus series will be a real balancing act. To not exceed the budget will require all your tightrope walking skills. ;D

The SA-WI and NZ-Bang competitions are interesting. Both are two stage events that cover both tests and ODIs - with separate substitutions allowed for each stage.

I guess they realised there was waay too much cricket going to sustain interest in that many fantasy contests.

It is very !! But in other ways, gives an added incentive to follow other games ;)

I'll create a league too and post a thread later today.

KIC breaks pankaj's record for the highest ranking in the CV league and ties with indcric for highest ever ranking by a DG member

Subjectively speaking, these guys probably had more teams competing with them ...so, I guess you could compare my record with those of batsmen who feast on minnow bowling. I can live with that :D

If only I had picked Vaas instead of Hoggard :BangHead: :BangHead:

devatha = most consistent !!!   ::cheers:: ::cheers::

Very impressive, given that he normally competes in only the leagues featuring India ... which have more competitors within the DG as well.
