Bimmer Vs Beamer - The primer for Baba Ganoush
« on: August 06, 2007, 11:04:17 PM »

The problem with bowling beamers is no different than dangerous driving of a beamer :)

Not quite. Dangerous driving of a beamer can cause harm to the driver. Not so with the bowler of a beamer. :)

sgusa:

For the proud owner of a BMW car, your use of incorrect terminology is apalling - shame on you !!   ::Whip::

A Beamer or Beemer refers to a BMW motorcycle.

A Bimmer is the correct terminology for a BMW automobile with 4 wheels.

On a separate note, why do you feel dangerous driving of a BMW would cause harm only to the driver ? You should have more faith in the car's protective abilities  :D

Whoever cares for the dangerous driver ?  ;)

And don't drive away from the thread topic.  :)

Nah, we know he does not own a beamer -- that has been established via prior conversations.  :D

So no escape via technicality  ;)

Why do you always assume that just because you have said something, it is established truth ? :)

So which part is not established here ?

That a bimmer = car and beamer / beemer = motorcycle

Or

That you own a BMW four wheeler (not a BMW bike)

What techinicality? You said "driving of a BMW would cause harm only to the driver ". But he did not say "only". he said "driving a beamer can cause harm to the driver". It doesn't matter if he owns a beamer or not :)

Ah - I believe we were talking of 2 different things.

You were referring to the BMW hurting others vs the passenger et al

I was referring to "Bimmer vs Beamer". I thought your "only" reference was meant to reference the possibility that sgusa might have owned a beamer in addition to a bimmer - hence my reference to a technicality

All cool :) The important thing is that you've proven that sgusa does not own a BMW car :)

Umm ... to emulate Him, you need to say something like
Of my 17 (add appropriate number of zeroes) friends, no one has ever questioned my ownership of a BMW. IF the people on this DG are trying to cast such aspersions, I am hurt.

OK, now please drive your car back to the thread :).

At the risk of adding one more ...agree ... perhaps the cricketing part of it was dead already.
